And there was no "one time use only" stipulation. Not that that stopped many of us this year either. Still, last year we ordered MANY small items, such as Bitty's animals, and only paid $2 plus shipping. Or those FREE Beach boots that only cost shipping.

Even ordering a new "girl" last year saved not only $10, but lowered it to the next shipping level, saving even more. Not this year, since doll prices are higher.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH... Last years code!!! Many of us went into a frenzy of AG buying because there had never been a code like that one before. Previously, the only code for $10 off required a minimum $100 purchase. We did many, many mathematical calculations on the board and determined that separate purchases totally as close to $10 each were the best way to go. So we place many, many small orders. Our UPS delivers must have thought we were crazy!

This year's DVD code was not as good because you had to make a minimum $30 purchase. When factoring in shipping, it was not always advisable to make multiple purchases. Also, this year's code clearly stated for 1 time use. Last year's code had no such written restriction.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That's so funny. I used the Samantha code several times last year, but for the most part behaved. I'm wondering now, WHY? I wish I had used it more. I used the Felicity code a lot more and know the feeling about the extra boxes and catalogs. I saved the smaller boxes and packing peanuts for my eBay selling, but didn't know what to do with all the catalogs! Looking back, last year's code was AMAZING! Wish I had used it to it's full potential! LOL.

I wasn't around for last years code- and kind of glad.

I really try to shop with the motto that "It's not saving money if you didn't meant to spend it in the first place" when I deal with sales.

I used the Felicity code twice (I know... bad, but I didn't really abuse it by using it a ton) and felt guilty about the extra packaging I was requiring. I'm a big use less, reuse more, recycle all you can kind of person- so splitting the one order into two orders made me feel real bad, I imagine the Samantha code would have made me feel awful- but it's hard to not want to take advantage of the savings, even at the cost of tons of boxes and catalogs. (So happy Mattel uses the peanuts that you can throw out in the yard when there is a rain.)

I recycled the boxes to ship out things to my son away at college and for selling things on e-Bay. However, I had so many peanuts that I "melted" them in the sink with water and they went down the drain in a sudsy mess. I think that is better than the old peanuts that went in the landfill.

Last years code was $10 of a $10 purchase and you could use it as many times as you wanted. I loved that code because my mom ordered me things at least once a week. This year it is $10 of a $30 purchase and it is one time use only.

I've heard a lot about last years code on this board, and that this year's didn't even compare. I wasn't a member of hostboard last year (2004 Christmas) and wanted to know more about "the code!"

I was lurking then, but The Code came with the Samantha movie, and was $10 off, period. Instead of the $10 off purchases of $30 or more, like Lissie's.

If you haven't found it in other threads on this board, there is a code working right now. 149921, for 10% off internet and phone orders. I have used it twice this week.
